     John Stonecypher was born in 1756 at Culpepper County, Virginia.2,1 He was the son of John Heinricus Stonecypher.3

John Stonecypher married Nancy Curtis in 1783 at Wilkes County, North Carolina.4,1

In 1784 he moved from Wilkes County, North Carolina to Franklin County, Georgia.2

John Stonecypher was enumerated during 1830 on the 1830 U. S. census for Franklin County, Georgia as head of family John Stonecypher. Enumerated in this family were: 1 Free white male 20 to 30 years old, 1 Free white male 70 to 80 years old, 2 Free white females 20 to 30 years old, 1 Free white female 60 to 70 years old, 1 Slave male 24 to 36 years old, 1 Slave male 55 to 100 years old, 7 Total Persons.5

On 3 September 1832 at Franklin County, Georgia, he gave a sworn declaration of his Revolutionary War service in North Carolina.6

On 15 October 1833 John Stonecypher was granted a pension of $69.22 a year for his Revolutionary War service. The pension was to be paid half on the 4th of March and half on the 4th of September each year.7

John Stonecypher was enumerated during 1840 on the 1840 U. S. census for Franklin County, Georgia as head of family John Stonecypher. Enumerated in this family were: 1 Free white persons, males, at least 20 and under 30 years old, 1 Free white persons, males, at least 80 and under 90 years old, 1 Free white persons, females, at least 30 and under 40 years old, 1 Free white persons, females, at least 70 and under 80 years old, 2 Slaves, males, under 10 years old, 1 Slaves, males, at least 24 and under 36 years old, 2 Slaves, females, under 10 years old, 1 Slaves, females, at least 36 and under 55 years old, 10 Total Persons, 2 Persons employed in Argriculture. John Stonecypher was a Pensioner for Revolutionary or other military service, age 84.8

John Stonecypher was enumerated on 4 October 1850 as head of household on the 1850 U. S. census for District No 32, Franklin County, Georgia as John Stonecypher, 95 years old, birthplace of Viginia, occupation of None, value of real property $10,000.. Also enumerated in the household were Nancy Stonecypher, Nancy Stonecypher and Cathatin Hamilton.9

John Stonecypher died on 16 December 1850 at Franklin County, Georgia. . He died intestate (without a will).10,11,12

On 27 December 1850 Judge Henry Freeman of the Court of Ordinary, Franklin County, Georgia granted temporary Letters of Administration for the estate of John Stonecypher to Daniel Moseley and James Stonecypher.13

On 3 March 1851 the Court of Ordinary, Franklin County, Georgia granted permanent Letters of Administration for the estate of John Stonecypher to Daniel Moseley and James Stonecypher.14

On 3 March 1851 the Court of Ordinary, Franklin County, Georgia appointed Norman R Dortch, Thomas P Williams, Robert Scott, Mathias Crawford and David Camp to appraise the estate of John Stonecypher.14
