     Susan Jane Cook was born on 5 October 1849 at Union County, Georgia.1,2 She was the daughter of Jonathan Cook and Rebecca Jackson.2

On 28 October 1850 Susan Jane Cook was enumerated in the household of Jonathan Cook on the 1850 U. S. census for 85th District, Union County, Georgia as Jane Cook, 1 years old, birthplace of Georgia. Also enumerated in the household were Rebecca Jackson, Elvira Cook, Nancy E. Cook and John Kimsey Cook.3

On 27 June 1860 Susan Jane Cook was enumerated in the household of Jonathan Cook on the 1860 U. S. census for Blairsville Ga Post Office, Union County, Georgia as Susan J Cook, 9 years old, birthplace of Georgia. Also enumerated in the household were Rebecca Jackson, Elvira Cook, Nancy E. Cook, John Kimsey Cook and William W Cook.4

A Marriage License was granted to Susan Jane Cook and Thompson Smith Collins on 20 October 1869 at Union County, Georgia.5

Susan Jane Cook married Thompson Smith Collins, son of Francis Collins and Rutha Nix, on 21 October 1869 Aydelotte in her Collins descendants book gives the license date as the marriage date at Union County, Georgia.5,1

On 15 June 1870 Susan Jane Cook was enumerated in the household of Rutha Nix on the 1870 U. S. census for Union County, Georgia as Susan J Collins, 20 years old, birthplace of Georgia, occupation of House Keeper. Month married, if married in Census yearOct. Also enumerated in the household were James R P Collins, John Cathey Collins, Francis Jasper Collins, Mary Ann Collins, Jane Malinda Collins, Achibald Benjamin Collins and Thompson Smith Collins.6

On 14 June 1880 Susan Jane Cook was enumerated in the household of Thompson Smith Collins on the 1880 U. S. census for Choestoe District (834), Union County, Georgia as Jane Collins, 29 years old, Wife, Married, birthplace of Georgia, occupation of Keeping House. Could not write. Father born in Georgia. Mother born in Georgia. Also enumerated in the household were James Monroe Collins, William Virgil Collins and Joseph Gordon Collins.7

On 11 June 1900 Susan Jane Cook was enumerated in the household of Thompson Smith Collins on the 1900 U. S. census for Choestoe District, Union County, Georgia as Susan J Collins, 50 years old, Wife, married for 28 years, gave birth to 7 children, number of children still living 4, Born Oct 1849 in Georgia, Could read, Could write, Could speak English. Father born in Georgia. Mother born in Georgia. Also enumerated in the household were Francis Thurman Collins and John Sullivan.8

On 16 April 1910 Susan Jane Cook was enumerated in the household of Thompson Smith Collins on the 1910 U. S. census for Militia District 834 Choestoe, Union County, Georgia as Susa Collins, 59 years old, Wife, married for 40 years, gave birth to 7 children, number of children still living 4, birthplace of Georgia, occupation of None. Could read. Could write. Father born in North Carolina. Mother born in North Carolina. Also enumerated in the household were Francis Thurman Collins.9

S. census for Choestoe District, Union County, Georgia as Susan J Collins, 70 years old, Mother, widowed, birthplace of Georgia, occupation of None. Could speak English. Father born in Georgia. Mother born in Georgia. Also enumerated in the household were Mary Viola Collins, Cecil Woodrow Collins, Susie Hazel Collins and James Thompson Collins.10

Susan Jane Cook was enumerated on 17 April 1930 as head of household on the 1930 U. S. census for Choestoe M.D. 834, Union County, Georgia as Susie Collins, 80 years old, Head, widowed, birthplace of Georgia, occupation of None. Could read and write. Did not attended school within the year. owned home valued at $200. did not live on a farm. Father born in Georgia. Mother born in Georgia.11

Susan Jane Cook died on 5 August 1935 at Choestoe, Union County, Georgia, at age 85. Cause of Death: Cancer of the Liver.There were two Certificates of Death created. On the firs,t number 21282, J. G. Collins (Joseph Gordon), Susan Jane's son, was the informant. Another of her son's Bob T (Frances Thurman) was the clerk who files it. The other certificate number 23880 was also filed by Bob Collins with himself as the informant.There dos not appear to be any significant differences between the two certificates.2,12,1

Susan Jane Cook was buried at Old Choestoe Cemetery, Union County, Georgia.2,13
