     Prudence Bearss was born on 22 May 1810 at New York.2,3,4 She was the daughter of Joshua Baker Bearss and Ruth B Knapp.5

Prudence Bearss married Samuel Thurston, son of Daniel Greene Thurston and Fanny Thayer, on 13 November 1830 at Marion, Ohio.6,7 Prudence Bearss was a witness to a deed between Grantor John Reider and Elizabeth Reider and Grantee Jacob Starner on 12 December 1833 at Marion County, Ohio.8

Prudence Bearss was 37 years old, when her husband, Samuel Thurston, died on 20 June 1847.9

Prudence Bearss was enumerated on 1 October 1850 as head of household on the 1850 U. S. census for Pleasant township, Wabash County, Indiana as Prudence Thurston, 40 years old, birthplace of New York, value of real property $800.. Also enumerated in the household were Samuel Wesley Thurston, William Kilbourn Thurston, Mary Frances Thurston, Laura Caroline Thurston and Prudence Philena Thurston.10

Prudence Bearss was enumerated on 19 June 1860 as head of household on the 1860 U. S. census for Laketon Post Office, Pleasant Township, Wabash County, Indiana as Prues Thurston, 50 years old, birthplace of New York, value of real property $1800, value of personal property $666.. Also enumerated in the household were Samuel Wesley Thurston, Mary Frances Thurston, Prudence Philena Thurston and Martha Shallenberger.11

Prudence Bearss died on 21 May 1861 at age 50.9

Prudence Bearss was buried at Nabors Cemetery, Wabash County, Indiana.9
