S. census for Canajoharie, Montgomery County, New York as Mathew Rector, 43 years old, birthplace of New York, occupation of Laboer.. Also enumerated in the household were Elizabeth Carney, Barnabas Rector, Phebe Rector, Abigail E Rector and Silas Charles Rector.6

Mathew P Rector on 2 August 1857 purchased property located in Tama County, Iowa from George Crittenden and Amelia Crittenden for $250. The property described as the South East 1/4 of the North West 1/4 of Section Thirty Two, Township Eighty Two, North of Range Thirteen West containing forty acres. Witnessed by William Bale.7

Also enumerated in the household were Elizabeth Carney.8

Mathew P Rector on 24 February 1866 sold property located in Tama County, Iowa to Barnabas Rector for $5. The property described as the South East quarter of the North West quarter of Section thirty two (32) Township eighty two (82) North of Range Thierteen (13) West containg forty acres.9

On 8 September 1870 Mathew P Rector was enumerated in the household of Barnabas Rector on the 1870 U. S. census for Salt Creek Township, Tama County, Iowa as Mathew P Rector, 68 years old, birthplace of New York, occupation of At Home. Enumerated as 21 Year or older male citizen. Also enumerated in the household were Mary E (?).10

On 1 June 1880 Mathew P Rector was enumerated in the household of Barnabas Rector on the 1880 U. S. census for Salt Creek Township, Tama County, Iowa as M. P. Rector, 73 years old, Father, Widowed, birthplace of New York, occupation of Retired Farmer. Father born in New York. Mother born in New York. Also enumerated in the household were Mary E (?) and Benj Thompson.4

Mathew P Rector died on 24 August 1883.11,12
