     Nan E Twiggs was born on 17 February 1874 at Blairsville, Union County, Georgia.2 She was the daughter of John Wesley Twiggs and Sarah Elizabeth Hughes.

On 14 June 1880 Nan E Twiggs was enumerated in the household of John Wesley Twiggs on the 1880 U. S. census for Choestoe District (834), Union County, Georgia as Nancy Twigs, 6 years old, Daughter, Single, birthplace of Georgia. Father born in Georgia. Mother born in Georgia. Also enumerated in the household were Sarah Elizabeth Hughes, Edwin P. Twiggs, Callie Twiggs, Mary Twiggs, L. M. Twiggs and William Frady.3

Nan E Twiggs was 11 years old, when her mother, Sarah Elizabeth Hughes, died on 2 June 1885.4,5

Nan E Twiggs married James Monroe Collins, son of Thompson Smith Collins and Susan Jane Cook, on 2 January 1896 at Union County, Georgia.6

Twiggs, Amicus Miller, Newton Nix, Mary E (?), Lois I Twiggs and Otis Twiggs.7

S. census for Precinct 13 West Eaton, Weld County, Colorado as Nancy E Collins, 36 years old, Wife, married for 14 years, gave birth to 7 children, number of children still living 6, birthplace of Georgia, occupation of None. Could read. Could write. Father born in Georgia. Mother born in Georgia. Also enumerated in the household were Bruce Harrison Collins, Myrtle May Collins, Marvin Joseph Collins, Gladys Elizabeth Collins, Alda Loretta Collins and James Monroe Collins Jr.8

S. census for Precinct No 13 outside of Eaton Town of, Eaton, Weld County, Colorado as Nancy E Collins, 45 years old, Wife, Married, birthplace of Georgia, occupation of None. Could read. Could write. Could speak English. Father born in Georgia. Mother born in Georgia. Also enumerated in the household were Myrtle May Collins, Marvin Joseph Collins, Gladys Elizabeth Collins, Alda Loretta Collins and James Monroe Collins Jr.9

On 17 April 1930 Nan E Twiggs was enumerated in the household of James Monroe Collins on the 1930 U. S. census for Precinct 13 part of, Weld County, Colorado as Nan E Collins, 56 years old, Wife, Married, was first married at age 21, birthplace of Georgia, occupation of None. Could read and write. Did not attended school within the year. Father born in Georgia. Mother born in Georgia. Also enumerated in the household were Alda Loretta Collins and James Monroe Collins Jr.10

On 6 April 1940 Nan E Twiggs was enumerated in the household of James Monroe Collins on the 1940 U. S. census for Precinct 13 West Eaton, Weld County, Colrado as Nanme E Collins, 66 years old, wife of head of household, married, was born in Georgia, recieved $0 in wages or salary income in 1939, did not recieve more than $50 in non wage or salary income in 1939, had not attended school or college since March 1, 1940, had complleted 8th grade. Also enumerated in the household were Alda Loretta Collins.11 Nan E Twiggs died on 26 December 1953 at Eaton, Weld County, Colorado, at age 79.2

Nan E Twiggs was buried at Eaton Cemetery, Eaton, Weld County, Colorado.12,13

    Nan E. Collins, the daughter of Rev. John W. Twiggs and Sarah Elizabeth Hughes Twiggs was born February 17, 1874, at Blairsville, Ga. And passed away on December 26, 1953 at 3:20 a.m. at her home west of Eaton where she has lived for fifty seven years.

    She united with the Methodist Church early in her life and took an active part in church and Sunday School work.

    She was married to James M. Collins on January 2, 1896 at her father's home. She and her husband came to Colorado. She transferred her membership to the Methodist Church at Windsor as there was no Methodist Church in Eaton. After the First Baptist Church was organized in Eaton, she joined there in order to rear her children in their father's faith and has taken an active part in the church work. She taught Sunday School for some time. Two sons have preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing five children: Mrs. May C. Flint of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mrs. Gladys Woodrow of Denver, Marvin J. Collins, Miss Alda Collins, and James M. Collins, Jr. all of Eaton.

    Also surviving are a sister Mrs. Gordon Allison of Eaton, four brothers: the Rev. L. M. Twiggs and the Rev. Walter M. Twiggs, both of Atlanta, Ga., Eugene Twiggs of Warren, Ga. and E. P. Twiggs of Greeley.

    She was a charter member of the Eaton Chapter No. 67 Order of the Eastern Star Past Matron of the Eastern Star, a Charter member of the Order of Beauceant of Greeley, a long time member of the Rebekah Lodge of Eaton and a member of Navy Mother's Club No. 15., May Collins Flint Papers, privately held by Joseph M Flint, Seattle, King County, Washington.
