     Jacob Schuler was born on 2 July 1835 at Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2 He was the son of Robert Schuler and Elizabeth Rantz.1

Jacob Schuler was 12 years old, when his father, Robert Schuler, died on 8 June 1848 at Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. While he was on a visit.3

On 1 October 1850 Jacob Schuler was enumerated in the household of Elizabeth Rantz on the 1850 U. S. census for Pleasant township, Wabash County, Indiana as Jacob Schuler, 14 years old, birthplace of Pennsylvania. Attended school within the year. Also enumerated in the household were Mary Schuler, Elizabeth Schuler, Henry Schuler, Samuel Schuler, Margaret Schuler, John Schuler and Nancy Schuler.4

On 18 June 1860 Jacob Schuler was enumerated in the household of Elizabeth Rantz on the 1860 U. S. census for Pleasant Township, Wabash County, Indiana as Jacob Shuler, 23 years old, birthplace of Pennsylvania, value of personal property $521. Also enumerated in the household were Mary Schuler, John Schuler, Nancy Schuler and Samuel Black.5

Jacob Schuler married Mary Frances Thurston, daughter of Samuel Thurston and Prudence Bearss, on 15 October 1862 at Wabash County, Indiana.6

Jacob Schuler was enumerated on 15 August 1870 as head of household on the 1870 U. S. census for Pleasant Township, Wabash County, Indiana as Jacob Schuler, 35 years old, birthplace of Pennsylvania, occupation of Farmer, value of real property $16,500, value of personal property $1,000. Enumerated as 21 Year or older male citizen.. Also enumerated in the household were Mary Frances Schuler.7

Jacob Schuler was enumerated on 9 June 1880 as head of household on the 1880 U. S. census for 3rd Ward, City of Wabash, Wabash County, Indiana as Jacob Schuler, 44 years old, Married, birthplace of Pennsylvania, occupation of Stock Trader. Father born in Pennsylvania. Mother born in Pennsylvania.. Also enumerated in the household were Mary Frances Schuler.8

Jacob Schuler was enumerated on 1 June 1900 as head of household on the 1900 U. S. census for Paw Paw Township, Roann Town, Wabash County, Indiana as Jacob Schuler, 64 years old, Head, married for 37 years, Born July 1835 in Pennsylvania. Father born in Pennsylvania. Mother born in Pennsylvania.. Also enumerated in the household were Mary Frances Schuler.9

Jacob Schuler married Lucy A Taylor, daughter of Leah C Slaybaugh, on 19 June 1906 at Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.10

Jacob Schuler was enumerated on 19 April 1910 as head of household on the 1910 U. S. census for Paw Paw Township, Roann Town, Wabash County, Indiana as Jacob Schuler, 74 years old, Head, Married 2nd for 4 years, birthplace of Pennsylvania, occupation of Own Income. Could read. Could write. owned a House which was Free and Clear. Father born in Pennsylvania. Mother born in Pennsylvania.. Also enumerated in the household were Lucy A Schuler.11

Jacob Schuler died on 25 March 1918 at Wabash County, Indiana, at age 82.2
