     Benjamin Franklin Flint was born on 18 December 1855 at New York.1 He was the son of Ethan Allen Flint and Catherine Pitcher.1

On 5 July 1860 Benjamin Franklin Flint was enumerated in the household of Ethan Allen Flint on the 1860 U. S. census for Richland Township, Tama County, Iowa as F Flint, 5 years old, birthplace of New York. Also enumerated in the household were Catherine Pitcher, Alida Flint, Alice Flint and Viona Flint.2

On 14 July 1870 Benjamin Franklin Flint was enumerated in the household of Ethan Allen Flint on the 1870 U. S. census for Tama City Post Office, Richland Township, Tama County, Iowa as Frank Flint, 14 years old, birthplace of New York, occupation of At home. Attended school within the year. Also enumerated in the household were Catherine Pitcher, Dorcas Flint and Edith May Flint.3

Benjamin Franklin Flint married Helen Lawrence on 27 October 1878.4
