     Elizabeth Collins also went by the name of Betsy.1 She was born circa 1814 at Buncombe County, North Carolina.1 She was the daughter of Thompson Collins and Celia Self.1

Elizabeth Collins married James Nix, son of William Nix and Susannah Stonecypher, circa 1834 at Habersham County, Georgia.2

On 25 October 1850 Elizabeth Collins was enumerated in the household of James Nix on the 1850 U. S. census for 85th District, Union County, Georgia as Elizabeth Nix, 36 years old, birthplace of North Carolina. Could not read or write. Also enumerated in the household were William Nix, Susannah Nix, Thompson Nix, John Nix, Archibald C Nix, James B Nix, Jasper Nix, Newton Nix, Thomas J Nix and Ivan Nix.3

Elizabeth Collins died circa 1856.2
