On 25 October 1850 Thompson Nix was enumerated in the household of James Nix on the 1850 U. S. census for 85th District, Union County, Georgia as Thompson Nix, 12 years old, birthplace of Georgia. Attended school within the year. Also enumerated in the household were Elizabeth Collins, William Nix, Susannah Nix, John Nix, Archibald C Nix, James B Nix, Jasper Nix, Newton Nix, Thomas J Nix and Ivan Nix.2
