Mother was foreign born. Also enumerated in the household were Mary Gerhart, Christian Gerhart, Charles Gerhart, Candice Gerhart and Sophia Zimmer.2
On 18 June 1880 Elizabeth Bauer was enumerated in the household of Charlie Gerhart on the 1880 U. S. census for Salem Township, Washington County, Ohio as Elizabeth Gerhart, 39 years old, Wife, Married, birthplace of Bavaria, occupation of Keeping house. Could not write. Father born in Bavaria. Mother born in Bavaria. Also enumerated in the household were Mary Gerhart, Christian Gerhart, Charles Gerhart, Caroline Gerhart, Anna Gerhart, Hermon Gerhart and Sophia Zimmer.3
