On 18 June 1880 Christian Gerhart was enumerated in the household of Charlie Gerhart on the 1880 U. S. census for Salem Township, Washington County, Ohio as Christian Gerhart, 15 years old, Son, Single, birthplace of Ohio, occupation of Works on farm. Father born in Ohio. Mother born in Bavaria. Also enumerated in the household were Elizabeth Bauer, Mary Gerhart, Charles Gerhart, Caroline Gerhart, Anna Gerhart, Hermon Gerhart and Sophia Zimmer.2
