     Ivan Kimsey Collins was born on 19 April 1835 at Habersham County, Georgia.1 He was the son of Thompson Collins and Celia Self.1

On 21 October 1850 Ivan Kimsey Collins was enumerated in the household of Thompson Collins on the 1850 U. S. census for 85th District, Union County, Georgia as Irwin Collins, 15 years old, birthplace of Georgia, occupation of None. Attended school within the year. Enumerated as Deaf, Dumb, Blind, Insane, etc. Also enumerated in the household were Celia Self, Nancy Collins, Olive Collins and Robert MCay.2

Ivan Kimsey Collins married Martha J Hunter on 22 September 1856.3

Ivan Kimsey Collins was enumerated on 29 June 1860 as head of household on the 1860 U. S. census for Choestoe Post Office, Union County, Georgia as Evan Collins, 25 years old, birthplace of Georgia, occupation of Farmer, value of real property $3000, value of personal property $3000. Enumerated as Deaf. Also enumerated in the household were Martha J Hunter, Mary J Collins, William Thompson Collins and Celia Self.4

Ivan Kimsey Collins was enumerated on 18 June 1870 as head of household on the 1870 U. Enumerated as Deaf, Dumb, Blind, Insane, etc. Enumerated as 21 Year or older male citizen.. Collins, James Johnson Collins, Joseph Newton Collins, Virgil Jep Collins, Nancy Margaret Collins, Jaun Carlton Collins and Celia Self.6

S. census for Choestoe, Union County, Georgia as Ivan K Collins, Married for 42 years, born Apr 1834, 66 years old, birthplace of Georgia, occupation of Farmer.. Also enumerated in the household were Martha J Hunter, Allen Candler Collins and Sarah Collins.7

Ivan Kimsey Collins died on 15 November 1901 at age 66.3
