     Joseph Newton Collins was also known as Newt Cap.1 He was born on 17 April 1871 at Georgia.1 He was the son of Ivan Kimsey Collins and Martha J Hunter.2

On 11 June 1880 Joseph Newton Collins was enumerated in the household of Ivan Kimsey Collins on the 1880 U. S. census for Choestoe District 834, Union County, Georgia as Joseph Collins, 8 years old, Son, Single, birthplace of Georgia. Attended school within the year. Father born in Georgia. Mother born in Georgia. Also enumerated in the household were Martha J Hunter, Susan Elizabeth Collins, Clerrissa Collins, John F. Collins, James Johnson Collins, Virgil Jep Collins, Nancy Margaret Collins, Jaun Carlton Collins and Celia Self.3

Joseph Newton Collins died on 13 July 1961 at Georgia at age 90.1
