     Eleanor C Hughes was born on 1 April 1837.3 She was the daughter of Thomas M Hughes and Nancy A Bird.1

On 3 September 1850 Eleanor C Hughes was enumerated in the household of Thomas M Hughes on the 1850 U. S. census for 85th District, Union County, Georgia as Elender Hughs, 13 years old, birthplace of Georgia. Attended school within the year. Also enumerated in the household were Nancy A Bird, William C. Hughes, Francis Hughes, Louisa Hughes, Jane Hughes, Rosetta Hughes, Thomas Hughes, Sarah Elizabeth Hughes and John Hughes.4

Eleanor C Hughes married Rev Milford G. Hamby on 8 September 1859.1,5

Eleanor C Hughes died on 18 July 1902 at age 65.1,2

Eleanor C Hughes was buried at Shady Grove Cemetery, Union County, Georgia.3
