     Nell Twiggs was born on 25 August 1883 at Union County, Georgia.2 She was the daughter of John Wesley Twiggs and Sarah Elizabeth Hughes.3,4

On 18 June 1900 Nell Twiggs was enumerated in the household of John Wesley Twiggs on the 1900 U. S. census for Choestoe District, Union County, Georgia as Nellie G Twiggs, 16 years old, Daughter, single, Born Aug 1883 in Georgia. Father born in Georgia. Mother born in Georgia. Also enumerated in the household were Georgia Elizabeth Westmoreland, Callie Twiggs, Mary Twiggs, L. M. Twiggs, Walter M. Twiggs and Eugene Twiggs.3

Nell Twiggs married Gordon Allison in 1905.2

On 17 April 1930 Nell Twiggs was enumerated in the household of Gordon Allison on the 1930 U. S. census for Precinct 13 part of, Weld County, Colorado as Nellie M Allison, 46 years old, Wife, Married, was first married at age 22, birthplace of Georgia, occupation of None. Could read and write. Did not attended school within the year. Father born in Georgia. Mother born in Georgia. Also enumerated in the household were Ines Allison, Elizabeth E Allison, Pauline Allison and Nellie B Allison.5

Nell Twiggs died on 21 April 1974 at age 90.6

Nell Twiggs was buried at Eaton Cemetery, Eaton, Weld County, Colorado, Nellie Margaret Allison.6

    Nan E. Collins, the daughter of Rev. John W. Twiggs and Sarah Elizabeth Hughes Twiggs was born February 17, 1874, at Blairsville, Ga. And passed away on December 26, 1953 at 3:20 a.m. at her home west of Eaton where she has lived for fifty seven years.

    She united with the Methodist Church early in her life and took an active part in church and Sunday School work.

    She was married to James M. Collins on January 2, 1896 at her father's home. She and her husband came to Colorado. She transferred her membership to the Methodist Church at Windsor as there was no Methodist Church in Eaton. After the First Baptist Church was organized in Eaton, she joined there in order to rear her children in their father's faith and has taken an active part in the church work. She taught Sunday School for some time. Two sons have preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing five children: Mrs. May C. Flint of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mrs. Gladys Woodrow of Denver, Marvin J. Collins, Miss Alda Collins, and James M. Collins, Jr. all of Eaton.

    Also surviving are a sister Mrs. Gordon Allison of Eaton, four brothers: the Rev. L. M. Twiggs and the Rev. Walter M. Twiggs, both of Atlanta, Ga., Eugene Twiggs of Warren, Ga. and E. P. Twiggs of Greeley.

    She was a charter member of the Eaton Chapter No. 67 Order of the Eastern Star Past Matron of the Eastern Star, a Charter member of the Order of Beauceant of Greeley, a long time member of the Rebekah Lodge of Eaton and a member of Navy Mother's Club No. 15., May Collins Flint Papers, privately held by Joseph M Flint, Seattle, King County, Washington.
