Margaret Gerhart1

     Margaret Gerhart was also known as Margaretha.2 She was born on 8 November 1822 at Germany.2,1 She was the daughter of Adam Gerhart and Sophia Zimmer.1

Margaret Gerhart traveled with Adam Gerhart from Germany in 1834; sailed from Le Havre, France on 4 July 1834; arrived in New York City in August 1834; and settled in Salem Township, Washington County, Ohio Also traveling together were Sophia Zimmer, Jacob Gerhart, Adam Gerhart and Daniel Gerhart.3

Margaret Gerhart married John Pfaff on 6 May 1841 at Washington County, Ohio.4,2,1

On 4 September 1850 Margaret Gerhart was enumerated in the household of John Pfaff on the 1850 U. S. census for District No 137 Salem Township, Washington County, Ohio as Margaret Pfaff, 28 years old, birthplace of Germany. Also enumerated in the household were John Pfaff, Elizabeth Pfaff, Caroline Pfaff and Margaret Pfaff.5

On 2 August 1860 Margaret Gerhart was enumerated in the household of John Pfaff on the 1860 U. S. census for Bonn Post Office, Salem Township, Washington County, Ohio as Margaret Pfaff, 37 years old, birthplace of Bavaria. Also enumerated in the household were John Pfaff, Elizabeth Pfaff, Caroline Pfaff and Margaret Pfaff.6

Margaret Gerhart died on 2 December 1886 at Washington County, Ohio, at age 64. FG .2
