Mary G. Ladd married Henry Clay Long, son of Samuel W. Long and Rachel Eshom, on 5 February 1852 at Vigo County, Indiana.6

On 31 August 1860 Mary G. Ladd was enumerated in the household of Henry Clay Long on the 1860 U. S. census for Lost Creek Township, Vigo County, Indiana as Mary Long, 37 years old, birthplace of Indiana. Also enumerated in the household were William Noble Long, John Long, Sarah Long, Henry C Long and George Long.7
