     Mary Biggerstaff was born circa 1842 at Illinois.1 She was the daughter of Benjamin Biggerstaff and Nancy Courtney.1

On 4 October 1850 Mary Biggerstaff was enumerated in the household of Benjamin Biggerstaff on the 1850 U. S. census for Macoupin County, Illinois as Mary Bigerstaff, 8 years old, birthplace of Illinois Also enumerated in the household were Nancy Courtney, Nancy A Biggerstaff, Elizabeth Biggerstaff, William Biggerstaff, James Biggerstaff, Sarah Ella Biggerstaff and John T Biggerstaff.1

On 28 August 1860 Mary Biggerstaff was enumerated in the household of Benjamin Biggerstaff on the 1860 U. S. census for Macoupin County, Illinois as Mary L Biggerstaff, 18 years old, birthplace of Illinois Also enumerated in the household were Nancy Courtney, William Biggerstaff, James Biggerstaff, Sarah Ella Biggerstaff and Martha F Biggerstaff.2
