Benjamin Barrett was born circa 1853 at Georgia.1 He was the son of George W Barrett and Nancy Green Treadaway.1

S. census for Elyton Post Office, Woods Precinct, Jefferson County, Alabama as Benjamin Barret, 7 years old, birthplace of Georgia. Also enumerated in the household were Nancy Green Treadaway, Sarah Anne Barrett, Emiline Barrett, John Barrett, Martha Barrett, George W Barrett, Aaron Hezekiah Barrett, David Barrett and Durel F Barrett.1
On 17 August 1870 Benjamin Barrett was enumerated in the household of George W Barrett on the 1870 U. S. census for Eldridge Post Office, Township 15, Walker County, Alabama as Benjamin Barrett, 15 years old, birthplace of Georgia, occupation of Work on farm. Also enumerated in the household were Nancy Green Treadaway, David Barrett, Daniel Barrett, Ophelia Barrett and Leaborn M Barrett.2
