Clara Elnora Thurston was born on 27 November 1850 at Ohio.1,2 She was the daughter of Joseph Thurston and Charlotte Loofborrow.1

S. census for Brown Township, Delaware County, Ohio as Clara Thurstin, 9 years old, birthplace of Ohio. Attended school within the year. Also enumerated in the household were Charlotte Loofborrow, Lucretia Cornella Thurston and Joanna Adelpha Thurston.2
On 18 July 1870 Clara Elnora Thurston was enumerated in the household of Joseph Thurston on the 1870 U. S. census for Argyle, Lafayette County, Wisconsin as C L Thurston, 19 years old, birthplace of Ohio, occupation of At Home. Also enumerated in the household were Charlotte Loofborrow.3
