     Margaret Whistance was born on 15 May 1825 at Maesquortha, Brecon, Wales.1 She was the daughter of Edward Whistance and Mary Lewis.

About 6 June 1841 Margaret Whistance was enumerated with William Green on the 1841 census of England for Lugwardine, Herefordshire as Margret Wistance, age 14 not born in England, occuption Dressmaker.2

About 30 March 1851 Margaret Whistance was enumerated with Phillip Lewis on the 1851 census of England for Ewyas Harold, Hereford City, Herefordshire as Margaret Whistone, niece, age 26, born at Llannethby, Breconshire, Wales, occupation Dressmaker.3

Margaret Whistance married Isaac Nelson, son of Thomas Nelson and Elizabeth Thompson, on 23 February 1854.4

On 13 September 1860 Margaret Whistance was enumerated in the household of Isaac Nelson on the 1860 U. S. census for Provo, Utah County, Utah as Margt Nelson, 34 years old, birthplace of England Also enumerated in the household were Isaac N Nelson, Elizabeth Nelson, Margaret Anne Nelson, Sarah E Nelson and Sarah H Nelson.5

On 13 August 1870 Margaret Whistance was enumerated in the household of Isaac Nelson on the 1870 U. S. census for Provo, Utah County, Utah as Margaret Nelson, 45 years old, birthplace of England, occupation of Keeping House Also enumerated in the household were Isaac N Nelson, Elizabeth Nelson, Margaret Anne Nelson, Sarah E Nelson, John Nelson, Francis Nelson, Regina Nelson, Thomas Nelson and Joseph Nelson.6

On 8 June 1880 Margaret Whistance was enumerated in the household of Isaac Nelson on the 1880 U. S. census for Provo, Utah County, Utah as Margaret Nelson, Wife, Married, 54 years old, birthplace of England, occupation of Keping House. Also enumerated in the household were Margaret Anne Nelson, Francis Nelson, Regina Nelson and Thomas Nelson.7

Margaret Whistance was enumerated on 8 June 1900 as head of household on the 1900 U. S. census for Provo, Utah County, Utah as Margaret Nelson, Widowed, born May 1825, 75 years old, birthplace of Wales, mother of 10 children 8 of which were still alive.. Also enumerated in the household were Regina Nelson and David Nelson.8

Margaret Whistance died on 25 September 1904 at Provo, Utah County, Utah, at age 79.9,1

Margaret Whistance was buried on 27 September 1904 at Block 2 Lot 2, Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State, Provo, Utah County, Utah.9,10,11
