Benjamin Scripture was born in 1818 at Montgomery County, New York.1 He was the son of Zilpha Demond.1
2 June 1855 Benjamin Scripture was enumerated with Levi Flint on the 1855 New York census for Canajoharie 2nd, Montgomery County as Benjamin Scripture, Mothers Son, 37 years old, birthplace of Montgomery County, 37 years in this city or town, Native voter. Owned land Also enumerated in the household were Cornelia Jansen, Mary Harriet Flint, Margaret Flint, Bridget (?) and Zipha Green.1
