     Newton B Hiatt on 28 July 1863 witnessed the purchase of property located in Tama County, Iowa by Ethan Allen Flint from John Beale and Annadilia Beale for $150. The property described as the South West Quarter of the North West Quarter of Section 35 in Township 82 North of Range 14 West of the 5th Prime Meridian.1
