Timothy Twiggs was born circa 1770 at Ireland. Timothy Twiggs was enumerated as being between 26 and 44 years old on both the 1800 and 1810 census. According to the 1800 Census he would have been born between 1756 and 1774. According to the 1810 Census he would have been born between 1766 and 1784. The two ranges overlap at 1766-1774. 1770 is in the middle of that range. Will Twiggs in the 1880 census states that his father was born in Ireland.2,3,4
A Marriage Bond was issued for Timothy Twiggs and Joicy Willis on 8 April 1793 at Rutherford County, North Carolina. Wiliam Qeen was the Bondsman. Samuel Carpente was the Witness.5

Enumerated in this family were: 2 Free white males under 10 years old, 1 Free white males 26 thru 44 years old, 1 Free white males 45 years old and over, 1 Free white females under 10 years old, 1 Free white females 26 thru 44 years old.3
Timothy Twiggs was enumerated during 1810 on the 1810 U. S. census for Rutherford County, North Carolina as head of family Timothy Twiggs. Enumerated in this family were: 2 Free white males under 10 years old, 1 Free white males 10 thru 15 years old, 1 Free white males 16 thru 25 years old, 1 Free white males 26 thru 44 years old, 1 Free white males 45 years old and over, 3 Free white females under 10 years old, 1 Free white females 26 thru 44 years old. In addition there was one loom in household, 80 yards of homespun cloth produced with a value of $40. No stills in the household.4
