     William Nelson was born on 5 February 1848 at St Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri.1 He was the son of William Nelson and Sarah Williams.2,3

On 6 September 1850 William Nelson was enumerated in the household of William Nelson on the 1850 U. S. census for Washington Township, Buchanan County, Missouri as William Nelson, 2 years old, birthplace of Missouri. Also enumerated in the household were Sarah Ann Richmond and Benjamin Nelson.4

William Nelson married Deborah Ellen Biggs on 1 January 1867 at Provo, Utah County, Utah.1

On 13 August 1870 William Nelson was enumerated in the household of William Nelson on the 1870 U. S. census for Provo City Post Office, Provo City 1st Ward, Utah County, Utah Territory as William Nelson, 21 years old, birthplace of Missouri, occupation of Laborer. Father was foreign born. Enumerated as 21 Year or older male citizen. Also enumerated in the household were Sarah Williams, Sarah Elizabeth Nelson, Deborah Ellen Biggs and Thomas William Nelson.5

William Nelson died on 28 July 1932 at Lehi, Maricopa County, Arizona, at age 84.1

William Nelson was buried on 30 July 1932 at Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona.1
