Jehu Knapp was born on 17 November 1767 at Danbury, Fairfield County, Connecticut.1 He was the son of John Knapp and Ruth Gregory.1,2

S. census for Marcellus, Onondaga County, New York as head of family Jehu Knapp. Enumerated in this family were: 4 Free white males under 10 years old, 1 Free white males 10 thru 15 years old, 1 Free white males 16 thru 25 years old, 1 Free white males 26 thru 44 years old, 2 Free white females under 10 years old, 1 Free white females 10 thru 15 years old, 1 Free white females 26 thru 44 years old.3
