     Eva Clyde Smith was born on 24 November 1878 at St Clair, Michigan.1,2 She was the daughter of Artemus Joel Smith and Melissa Kingsley.1

On 30 June 1880 Eva Clyde Smith was enumerated in the household of George Kingsley on the 1880 U. S. census for Whitehall, Washington County, New York as Eva C Smith, Daughter, 1 years old, birthplace of Michigan. Also enumerated in the household were Elizabeth Kingsley, Melissa Kingsley, Henry D Kingsley, Eva Kingsley, Maybel Kingsley Smith and Frank Webster.3
