On 18 December 1729, in the manner of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), Ellis Lewis and Mary Tyson, daughter of Mathias Tyson and Mary Potts, declared their intentions to be married before God and those gathered.2

Ellis Lewis died in 1783, at age ~75.
